Using the site

Romanize is free to use for personal and commercial purposes. There is no account, no sign up and no payment required to convert numbers, browse the reference pages, or use the tattoo generator, clock and other tools.

The embed widget and API

The embeddable widget and the JSON API are free to use on any site, personal or commercial, provided the "Powered by Romanize" credit on the widget stays intact. Please cache API responses rather than requesting the same number repeatedly.

Accuracy

The converter and reference pages are built to follow the standard rules for Roman numerals and are tested for correctness, but the site is provided as is, without a guarantee that every result or reference page is free of error. If something looks wrong, please tell us through the contact page so it can be checked.

Availability and changes

Romanize is offered as a free tool with no uptime guarantee. Tools, pages and the API may change, be added to, or occasionally be removed. We try to keep existing links and API endpoints stable, but cannot promise they will exist forever.

Advertising

Romanize may display third-party advertising to help cover the cost of running the site. Details of how ads work, including cookies and consent, are covered in the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Do not use automated tools to overload the site or the API beyond normal, reasonable use, and do not use Romanize to generate or distribute unlawful content. We may restrict access for anyone who abuses the service.

Liability

Romanize is provided free of charge and without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the site, its tools, or the accuracy of its content.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
